This role is perfect for students interested in marketing, communications, or media. Responsibilities: Design and schedule social media content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X). Assist in creating short-form video and photo content. Track engagement metrics and suggest ways to improve outreach. Collaborate with staff to highlight community service opportunities and student success stories. Qualifications: Strong writing and communication skills. Creative eye for photography, video, or graphic design. Familiarity with Canva, Adobe, or similar tools (preferred). Tennessee Promise Volunteer Requirements
What is Tennessee Promise?
Tennessee Promise is a last-dollar scholarship that provides eligible students with tuition-free access to community or technical colleges. In addition to financial support, students must complete a community service requirement each year to remain eligible.
Volunteer Requirements
High School Seniors
Must complete at least 16 hours of community service each academic year.
Hours must be submitted by August 1 following graduation.
College Students (Continuing Participants)
Must complete 8 hours of community service each semester enrolled.
Summer enrollment requires additional hours.
New Flexible Options (Starting June 2, 2025)
Students continuing beyond high school may choose one of two options:
Option 1: Two Deadlines
July 1, 2025: Submit 16 hours (excess rolls over).
August 1, 2026: Submit 16 additional hours (total of 32 hours).
Option 2: Four Deadlines
July 1, 2025: At least 8 hours.
December 1, 2025: Additional 8 hours (16 total).
April 1, 2026: Additional 8 hours (24 total).
August 1, 2026: Final hours to reach:
32 hours (if not enrolled in summer)
40 hours (if enrolled in summer)
Excess hours at each deadline roll forward to the next.
What Counts as Community Service?

Volunteering for a nonprofit or public-service organization,
Like Living the Dream University.
Unpaid internships
Job shadowing related to career goals
Participating in tnAchieves virtual service webinars (up to 16 hours allowed)
❌ Not Accepted
Paid work or “off the clock” jobs
Helping individuals directly (ex: babysitting a neighbor’s children)
Hours supervised by a family member
Religious proselytizing or advocacy
Donations of items instead of service hours
Submitting Your Hours
All hours must be submitted through the official TNAchieves online portal.
After submission, students will receive a confirmation email.
You are responsible for submitting your own hours—supervisors or mentors cannot do this for you.

Plan ahead to avoid missing deadlines.
Track your hours and get supervisor verification.
Submit early—extra hours roll over to the next deadline.
Use webinars if in-person opportunities are limited.
