About Our Name
JMCCE is named after Dr. Candy Jones-Martorell, Ed.D. , NBCT, who has built a distinguished career at the intersection of K–12 education, educator development, and organizational learning. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Master of Education in School Administration and Supervision, and a Doctorate of Education in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change.
With over 15 years of experience in K–12 classrooms, Dr. Jones-Martorell has taught across grades 3 through 8, including six years devoted specifically to English language learner education. Her work in this area is strengthened by her National Board Certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, reflecting deep expertise in multilingual learner support, instructional design, and culturally responsive practice.
In addition to her K–12 contributions, Dr. Jones-Martorell brings eight years of experience in higher education, where she has supported future educators, led professional learning, and contributed to program development grounded in research, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Across all roles, she is recognized for cultivating inclusive learning environments, guiding systemic change, and applying a strategic, learner-centered approach to educational leadership.

Our programs emphasize culturally responsive teaching, inclusive communication practices, and the belief that education is a tool for liberation, growth, and human connection.
