Compliance Statement
Living the Dream University has designed its academic programs with the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) guidelines and Tennessee Transfer Pathways in mind. Our associate degree curricula are structured to align with THEC standards to support future transfer opportunities. Final approval is pending THEC review.
Key Features of Our THEC-Compliant Programs:
General Education Core Alignment:
Our associate degree programs include a 41-credit general education core covering English Composition, Mathematics, History, Social Sciences, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Communication, and Information Literacy.
These courses satisfy THEC’s transfer core requirements, ensuring that all credits are fully transferable.
Pre-Major and Elective Courses
Each program includes 19 credit hours of pre-major or elective coursework designed to prepare students for upper-division study in their chosen field.
These courses are selected in alignment with THEC transfer standards, providing a strong foundation for bachelor’s degree completion.
Capstone and Applied Learning:
Capstone projects or portfolio development experiences are included in all programs, offering practical, hands-on application while remaining aligned with transfer pathways.
Seamless 2+2 Pathways:
Our programs are structured to support students who wish to continue to a bachelor’s degree after completing their associate degree.
With careful course selection, students can complete their online bachelor’s in an additional two years (60 credits), maximizing transfer efficiency and minimizing loss of credit.
Ongoing Review and Updates:
We continually review our curriculum against THEC guidelines and Transfer Pathway requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
This guarantees that our students have access to fully recognized, high-quality higher education opportunities across Tennessee.
By adhering to THEC standards, Living the Dream University ensures that our students’ educational progress is protected, and their academic pathways are efficient and accessible.
